| 防衛大 棒倒し 準決勝 20101121 Posted: 07 Aug 2011 11:20 AM PDT | 棒倒しは伝統的な競技会の中で最も激しく勇ましい競技。 まさに「死闘」で死人が出ないのが不思議なくらいだ。 その正統派作法、戦法がここに明らかになる。 倒れた学生を介抱している余裕はない。丸太のように倒れているだけだ。 血にまみれ、踏みつけられ気絶する。 衛生班、介護班の出番だ。 担架も準備され、医者も待機している。 棒の先端にぶら下がっているのは「猿」と呼ばれる 防御の要衝役だ。 棒のバランスをコントロールしつつ、足で敵を蹴落とす。 このときは先輩後輩の垣根はない。思い切り先輩をド突く。 各大隊150名の精鋭が、大隊の勝利、誇り、名誉をかけ競い合う。 激しさが目立つ棒倒しだが、各大隊の戦術の違いや激しさの中にある統制された動きにも注目してじっくりと見て欲しい。 この攻撃は統率が取れていて見事な早業であった。 以下資料、防衛大機関紙より、、、、、、 棒倒しは、旧海軍兵学校で実施されていた競技を継承 し、昭和29年の第2 回校内運動会で初めて行われ、55年 の歴史のある伝統的な競技会である。昭和35年には安全 上の理由から競技が中止になるも、翌年の36年には伝統 行事として復活、昭和43年に試合規定が不明確及び事故 多発のため試合時間3 分、傾斜45度と規定され、昭和48 年からは現在のルールである試合時間2 分傾斜30度に改 正された。現在では、11月上旬の開校記念祭2 日目の午 後に、陸上競技場において、予選・決勝が行われ、依然 として、開校記念祭のメインイベントとなっている。参 加者は、各大隊総勢150名であり、空手道部やボクシング 部などの打撃系校友会の学生は「攻撃部隊」に参加でき ない。対戦前に行っていた棒倒し責任者による口上合戦 は、内容及び服装が過激で、防衛大学生らしくないこと から、昨年度から実施していない。過去の成績は、第1 大隊が13回と最も多く優勝しているものの、近年では第 2 大隊が4 連覇を達成中である。 The pole down in the most intense sports competition heroic tradition. Although the event was officially cancelled again this year due to health and safety concerns, around 500 loyal fans from Gloucestershire and as far away as New Zealand turned up to watch the action from the sidelines. Local lad Chris Anderson was the champion for another year running, and the atmosphere on the hill was fantastic despite the dreadful British weather. While there was some police presence on the day, the authorities were particularly friendly to members of the public who had feared they wouldn't even be allowed access to Cooper's Hill on foot.
