| Auschwitz: Drone video of Nazi concentration camp Posted: 29 Jan 2015 09:14 PM PST | Drone video shows the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp as it is today - 70 years after it was liberated by Soviet troops. The camp in Poland is now maintained as a World Heritage Site and is visited by thousands of tourists and survivors every year. Auschwitz was the largest camp established by the Germans during World War II. More than a million people - the vast majority of them Jews - died there between 1940, when it was built, and 1945, when it was liberated by the Soviet army. Railway tracks into Auschwitz-Birkenau - Trains filled with victims from throughout occupied Europe arrived at the camp almost every day between 1942 and the summer of 1944. Ruins of wooden huts at Birkenau - Birkenau (or Auschwitz II) was erected in 1941 solely as a death camp, the wooden huts are now in ruins with only brick fireplaces and chimneys remaining. Entrance to Auschwitz I -The wrought-iron sign over the entrance bears the words Arbeit Macht Frei - "Work sets you free". Auschwitz I - The brick-built buildings were the former cavalry barracks of the Polish Army. Courtyard between blocks 10 and 11 at Auschwitz I - Block 11 was called "the Block of Death" by prisoners. Executions took place between Block 10 and Block 11 and posts in the yard were used to string up prisoners by their wrists. Auschwitz Birkenau is now a museum run by the Polish Culture Ministry, and a Unesco world heritage site. The Great Pot Debate Nancy Dr Drew vs Nancy Grace (Mediaite) Nancy Grace tonight revisited one of her passions: loudly decrying how dangerous pot is to the public based on several isolated incidents. And this time, she ended up sparring with her fellow HLN host, Dr. Drew Pinsky over cases where people ingested pot cookies and then something horrible happened. NORML’s Norm Kent told Grace he’s getting tired of her spreading this really unfair message that pot is evil. He said, “Your argument is not real because you take isolated instances of aberrant behavior and try to make them standardized for all marijuana users. And once and for all, Nancy, have you no conscience?” Grace shot back, “I was really just looking for an answer to the question, but obviously you’re stoned.” RELATED: Nancy Grace Battles 2 Chainz over Pot: Why Won’t You Think of the Children?!?! Unfortunately for Grace, Dr. Drew wasn’t exactly on her side on this. In the case she cited, he argued that THC in the system doesn’t necessarily prove pot’s to “blame,” and actually backs up his argument that he was suffering withdrawal from other drugs. They fought over this point for quite a while, and Grace thought she caught him by playing footage of Dr. Drew saying a while back that pot can be dangerously addictive. Dr. Drew insisted they can talk about addiction all they want, but that’s irrelevant to whether marijuana should be legalized and whether it’s a good or bad drug.
